Once Upon a Time

Dashing around every corner

Searching in every nook in the hopes of discovering an exit

But there is no such thing, not here, not now,

Buried within the caverns of this desolate cave.

With a last glance behind her she struck the opal walls

Jeering the cave to react,

But this cave, though minuscule, had more to it than she thought.

She flailed and wailed and ailed and whaled

She was as good as gone, and only now did she realize

She was lost to a torrent of emotions and as bleak as it felt a torrent of tears

Only she was not alone, for I too felt this torrent of feelings.

I flailed and wailed and ailed and whaled

I was as good as gone, and only then did I realize

I was not there. She was not there.

It was only lines adorning one of many pages, one of many chapters, one of many in the series.

And yet here I sat, engulfed within.
