Once Upon a Time

Grew my hair out
Rapunzel long
Made myself believe
I was strong
Magic unfolded
Like a fairy tale book
And soon I knew
All it took was a second look
Prince Charming
Made me believe
That love was magic
I just had to wait patiently
Never did I
Give hope
Because my hair
Like rapunzels was a rope
Climb up the tower
And through the window
Because Prince Charming
Was my hero
It took him a minute
Or maybe two
To finally say
"I love you"
It's fine it's fine
I said I would wait
He's the only one
With the key to my heart's gate
But I wasn't Rapunzel
A Princess or Snow White
He wasn't Prince Charming
But that was quite alright
This is still
My little secret spell
Good is certainly stronger
And it always wins
My heart is guiding me
To him, from within
He will be mine
Once more
Because our once upon a time
Isn't some lore
As I told you
It's a spell
But it's also
Trusting the universe well
Worry not
It will all come true
His heart and mine
Is connected through and through
Besides boys always comeback
That's just the way it is
He could never resist
My true love's kiss.

I've always kept whatever I wrote to myself, stored away. The reason being is because back in high school I used to write every year for the literary garland. And finally I became a senior and wanted to join their new, "Creative Writing" class. You had to go through an interview, the funny thing is they told me, "I don't think this is for you." Irony. In the end they ended up picking all their favorite students and being a shit class with nothing productive. I've been out of high school for almost 6 years now and I don't remember much of what I've learned, because they never taught me anything useful. I like being able to express myself in more ways than one, writing is just one of them. Fashion is a daily one.
