ONCE UPON A TIME

Once Upon A Time Poem

By: Aumique Bost

Once upon a time…

Cinderella was dressed oh so fine

Headed to the ball looking quite divine

She dances and sings as time flies by

11:58 hits and she yells “MY, MY, MY”

She runs into a prince, who kisses her goodbye

Then she immediately turns to the color of his bow-tie

She is now a creature very small and slimy

She hops home looking like poison ivy

She gets home safely and looks in the mirror

Only wishing that her vision was clearer

She hears footsteps getting closer to her door

She knew it was her mom saying

“Princess Tiana clean the kitchen floor!”

          She leaps in her bed

          And closes her eyes

Only to magically turn into another surprise

          They call her Sleeping Beauty

Because she’s slept for so long

Although that bed isn’t at all where she belonged.
