Once upon a time, there

Once upon a time, there was us

because that's how stories go right?

3 people, together in the world

And it was perfect, until it wasn't.

because it can't stay perfect forever

that doesn't make a plot line.

Things always fall apart eventually

Three becomes Two

Two becomes One

because that's how it goes right?

Everyone leaves eventually.

And suddenly you find yourself scrambling

to grab pieces of what's no longer there

To have happiness and bliss a bit longer

But you can't.

Because it always falls apart

Until suddenly,

you grab something else.

A group of kings and queens and monarchs

Crowns covered in metaphors and imagery

And you were happy.

And home.

Because stories always have a happy ending.
