Once Upon an Unfortunate Feeling

Once upon a time, I cried.

More specifically, I cried wolf.

I thought a joke would be funny, however, I was the only one that laughed,

a shriek of a fake wolf was only funny to someone who had nothing to do.

Me, alone in the field, would get bored from lack of attention.

ME, alone in the field, found a way to get attention.

Each yell would bring people, but each yell would bring fewer people than the previous one.

My boring day consisted of moving sheep here to there, and everywhere, so I yelled to try to make the day exciting.

People would grumble under their breath about how stupid I was, but I just wanted to have a friend.

Then one day, a real wolf appeared and I yelled, except no one came.

So I sat there, feeling as lonely and as helpless as before.

Here in the field, lay all the sheep I called my friends, and in the town were bunches of people who knew me as the boy who cried wolf.

I had a reason, yet no one would listen.

Once upon a time, I cried.

More specifically, I cried wolf.
