Once upon a time

I didn't want to live in this world anymore 

but, I was too afraid to die.

Once upon a time

I couldn't stand watching the news

I couldn't stand seeing all the unnecessary deaths

I couldn't stand looking at the president running our once so beautiful country

I couldn't stand the racism

I couldn't stand the hatred 

I couldn't stand witnessing the extinction of love

Once upon a time

I closed my eyes 

and I woke up

and so did the world

Once upon a time

all the hate we witnessed was gone

Once upon a time

the world was full of love

the world was full of smiles

the world was full of laughter

the world was full of hugs

the world was full of friendly strangers
