Once Was

I was once a myth.

T’was the name, Smith.

I was what was within.

I was your mere twin.

I knew your every move.

I knew your every thought.

I knew how you felt.

But it was I who had to be your safety belt.

Thousands of years ago,

Thousand of hours ago,

Thousands of Minutes ago,

Thousands of seconds ago.

Now I’m like you.

I have my own move.

I have my own thoughts.

I have a certain way to feel.

I roam the earth with happiness.

I roam the earth with peacefulness.

But I too wish I had a Smith inside me

Because there are days when I need a safety belt too.
