Once We Were

Once We Were

Respect.

Trust.

Loyalty.

Confidence.

Happiness.

Communication.

LOVE.

These are the characteristics that we’re told.

That we follow.

That we hold to heart, but why?

Once We Were.

Treating each other with respect, compassion, the intent of love.

Once We Were.

Trusting, hugging, snuggling, touching.

Once We Were.

Loyal holding our secrets with our lives, no one can get between us, no one can lie.

Once We Were.

Confident. Point blank. Us, We, You and I. Never singular. The world vs. Us.

Once We Were.

Happy, laughing, beaming, twinkling, living, breathing, with you.

Once We Were.

Communicating, divulgence, speaking, conveyance. All the same thing for how words weren’t enough for our love.

Once We Were.

In LOVE, ¨Because I love you¨ was our favorite saying, ¨I mean it¨ our favorite definition, ¨Because I love you¨ our favorite excuse, ¨I mean it¨ our favorite explanation.

ONCE WE WERE

Why not What We Are?, These words mean nothing if we do not comply, these memories false, the past erased, all lies if ¨Because I love you¨ is your favorite excuse for hurt only to make the guilt fester and I come crawling back.

WHAT WE ARE

¨Because I love you.¨

I can comply to our love.
