The One

When I look into your eyes, I see my best friend

I see a part of myself and how over time we have started to mend.

When I look at you, I see my number one supporter and fan

Every time I’m down and say, “I can’t”, you’re there to pick me up and tell me, “you can”.

When I look at you, I see my future and new beginnings

Starting a family and going to our son’s baseball games to watch every inning.

When I look at you, I feel a wave of reassurance fall over me

I know that you will always be there to remind me of my beauty.

When I look at you, I see a fellow follower of Christ

Together our faith will grow stronger for the one who made the ultimate sacrifice.

When I look at you, I don’t see your flaws

Instead I see your stunning heart and while in awe I can’t help but pause.

What started as a crush that came out of the blue

Will lead to our forever story because I love you!
