One

In a crowd alone, there is no doubt

You are with me here and now

Absence your presence, still you touch me

With memories of your respect and honesty

I rely on you for truth

Nothing else will do

I give what I get

Because I love you

Stay close to me in words

Sharing fears, hopes and dreams

Your hurt is my hurt

Through empathy

Reciprocal compassion

Is what we do

Simply

Because I love you
