To the 'One'

I'm writing this to you,

to the man I haven't met.

Actually, I'm not quite sure if I have known you for some time,

or if you're not in my life yet.

I'm writing this to you,

you're the one who I will love.

And if you believe that there's not much to you;

my darling, you are absolutely enough.

Do you live close by

or do you live terribly far?

Oh, I look forward to the day

that I find out who you are.

I hope that when the day comes

I'll be everything I'm meant to be.

I pray that I will be the only one for you,

and that you'll be the only one for me.

You don't have to worry, my dear,

I'm saving every inch of me for you.

I know that the wait will be worth it

when the love is absolutely true.

I do have problems,

you'll find out that my heart is damaged.

You'll soon learn that I come with quite the baggage.

But please, my love,

don't feel sorry for me.

I only ask that you stay

and help me with the unpacking.

God has worked in both of us

all throughout the years.

And if we keep our relationship, our marriage, steadfast in Him,

then our path will always remain clear.

I continue to grow and learn,

everything has just begun.
