The One and Only

Oxygen is what he wrote about and that is fine with me.

What he does not know is that in this place, I'd want him and him only.

Water and food would be great to have and so would a roof above,

But what I'd miss the most of all is the man I so much love.

I’d miss his silly jokes and puns-oh how much he makes me smile-

And laugh as I recall them when I‘ve not seen him in a while.

I’d miss having lunch with him and hearing about his day.

To come home at last and see him again, every day I’d pray.

I’d miss pressing my face against the warmth of his chest

As he embraces me in his arms, while his head on mine rests.

I’d miss sharing 9gag posts that had us grinning ear to ear

And reminisce of other such times that to me will always be dear.

I’d miss gazing at how sunlight blazes the wavering blue in his eyes

As I ponder on how many hues they’ve changed to my surprise.

I’d miss such things I hope and I pray I never have to miss.

From an endless list, such things include the sweetness of a kiss of bliss.

So while water and food would be great to have and so would a roof above,

I’d rather be with the one and only man I so much love.
