One and the Same

Dear Diary,

I crave his warmth, to be engulfed by strong, muscled arms. To feel the warmth of his skin against me. I dream of snuggling into his chest, of wrapping my arms around his shoulders. I can feel the heat of his neck against my own, his strong arms wrapped around my stomach. The feeling of his chest against mine, and never having to let go. I crave stroking his dirty blonde hair, letting my hands fall down around his neck. I feel his belly pushed against me, while I nestle in between his shoulders. I imagine his deep comforting voice, washing away all my worries and cares. In his embrace, I feel secure, calm, safe. Energy flows through his body, I feel it tingle through his skin. I wrap myself around him more and more, and he squeezes me tighter. The world around me vanishes. I cannot remember who I am or who he is. I only know that we are one, that we will stay in this moment forever. He listens to my troubles and woes, only to scatter them on the winds. What wouldn’t I give to feel him pressed against me? I long to touch him once again. Once in a moment, I felt this way, but he was stolen from me. My friend, snatched away by the love of another. He has not returned and I stand alone, without a friend, without a confidant. What point has my life, for I cannot see any? I pray night and day, begging Him who watches over me to help me, and to return one who is dear to me. I do not know if my request will be fulfilled, whether my pleas are within his commands. Oh! I miss the days when we embraced and shared our deepest secrets. My soul poured out to him, and my heart offered freely. He gave no reason for distrust, nor for anger or fear. I could fall asleep in his arms, to wake up unharmed and still beside him. Who on earth was like him? There was none who would sacrifice so much for me. People heard of this experience and looked down on us for uncleanliness. We were driven apart and together at the same time, all by the opinions of others. Still we remained, unaffected by those who knew not the depths of our bond. Never will I find another. Lovers? No, we were simply One and the Same.

Sincerely,

Emma
