One Bedroom

Moonlight streamed through.

I sat there,

A book barely seen.

The bed dipped,

And I scooted without thinking.

Then I heard it.

A sniffle.

Looking over,

I saw your tears,

Tinted blue,

And pulled you into a hug.

It’s going to be okay, mom.

Sadness comes in many forms,

In all ages,

But happiness does too.
