One Cannot Be Human Without Emotions

To live with emotion,

To feel and drive oneself to

Feel more or less to the bounteous

World around us makes us human.

To live in a vibrant world of ups

And downs, twists and turns

That threaten our existence to humble us

In our proud ways.

That is to be human.

To lose this quality,

To live in a world where one

Cannot and will never feel

The ecstasy of joy to the soul-crushing

Lows of anger and the blood-boiling

Rage, they lose a part of themselves.

To lose emotion, to a certain degree in

Which emotion creates a human, is

To lose one’s ability to relate to

Their fellow man.

They cannot be human.

In this society, the last

Thing one can afford to lose

Is their emotions and their ability

To be human.
