One Change
One single thing.
That's it.
That's all I can change
But, how can I choose?
I mean, there are so many things
That could be changed.
But who am I to decide what should be changed?
What one person has that right?
The world must decide as a whole what needs to be changed,
And there lies the problem.
The world as a whole has to decide
What has to change and how to change it.
If I or one other changed something-
We don't have that power.
Even more important,
The world will just change it back.
Yes, the world would see that we changed something
Without them, and they would change it back.
Wait. That's it.
That is what I would change.
That's what I would change,
That is what I would do.
I would pull back the curtains,
Open their eyes to the truth.
I would change how people looked at others and the world,
From indifference and callous, to openness and caring.
I would change their minds about working together,
About looking at things from a different perspective.
Only then can all the big changes occur,
Because the whole world had a hand in creating them.
