The "One Child Policy"

Who Am I?

Well, that’s a very good question.

I’m not exactly sure how to answer that suggestion.

I am who I am.

A cliché phrase to begin.

I’m a plain teenage girl who seems normal within.

Comprised of two distinctive names

One of which is distant.

I’m Alexis, or Hualing, a name that seems nonexistent.

The “One Child Policy”

Left me on a path with a nearing end.

Now,

I’m currently on a road that infinitely extends.

I guess I can now answer: Who Am I?

Since, a slice of my life has been defined.

I’m adopted

And always keep in mind—

I am no longer confined nor a shadow that’s left behind.
