One Day

One day I was walking down the street when I saw a person collapse

But everyone just kept walking on like nothing had happened

I ran to them, shook them, yelling "are you ok?"

but they didn't move

One day, I screamed for help but no one heard me

they just kept walking,

I screamed again but no one heard me

One day, I looked around in helpless wonder,

screaming and grabbing at any one near

but no one heard or saw me,

I looked down at the dying body to see who it was,

but they were gone

One day I stared in wonder at a blood stained street and my blood soaked shirt

I screamed, and shouted whats happening but no one answered

I felt something wet and looked down at my hands and arms and saw blood

blood gushed from gashes all along my arms and legs and chest, and stomach

One day I realized something

I was the one dying,

I was the one no one heard or saw

I was alone

One day I woke up from a dream, screaming with terror but no one came

One day I saw a knife for what it truly was and I was scared

One day I used that knife, and I used it again and again

but I don’t hide those cuts I try to show them

I try to be happy, I try to love

but all I feel is empty

One day my life will change

It has to, right?

It can’t stay this dulling throb forever, can it?

Why won’t any one answer me?

Why do they never answer me?

One day someone will answer me

One day I will be shining with the stars

One day I will be more and I will be happy

One day, I hope, my dreams will come true

but when will one day be today

One day I will be strong enough to share my story

and people will listen, I think

I may not have the worse life

but that doesn’t make my pain unimportant, right?

that doesn’t make me invisible, or does it

One day people will come running to that young girl

that young girl on the side of the road who tried so hard to live

and one day people will listen to her story

and see that she is me and I am her

One day life will be worth this pain

will be worth living,

will be amazing

I just hope we can all make it to our own day

I hope I will have that day

I hope that day is soon

One day soon

people will see that life isn’t fair

because they make it that way

One day soon people will say

Life isn’t fair but I won’t help make it that way.

One day

I just hope its soon
