One Day

One day

Someone's gonna look at you with joy in their eyes

Like your parents did on your first birthday

They'll bring sunshine to your smile

And stand by your side even on your worst days

One day

Someone's gonna come around, pick you up

Hold you tight and never let you go

They'll bury all your pain and fears

And help them disappear like melting footprints in the snow

One day

Someone's gonna love you deeper than the ocean floor

You'll never have so swim alone

And if you start to drift away

They'll safely pull you back to shore

One day

All your dreams will come together

And you're gonna believe this is all true

You might not know it now

But this persons waiting for you ❤️

I've been writing poems since I was 11 years old (for 12 years). I've been through a lot of trauma and I have trouble letting out my emotions. The only way I can fully express myself is through writing. It helps me release my feelings so I don't keep them bottled up.
