For one day
It’s five o clock, so I sit and watch the news
A shooting this weekend of course, I already knew
How many more lives do we have to lose?
Before we realize violence is never the answer we should choose.
For one day could we just get a break
Could we value others lives and decide that’s something we shouldn’t take?
Scared to let our kids can’t play outside
Because that’s the same exact way another young boy died.
For one day could we just put down the guns?
Could we just love each other and have some fun?
Let’s put our problems aside, let’s make some peace.
Let’s make the world a bit more easier for you and me.
For one day could we just go out without fear?
Without our families wondering the next day will we still be here
I wanna sit on the porch and walk down the street.
I want to know that my life is something I’ll keep.
I want to know that no one will harm me.
For one day could we let each other stay alive?
Could we know that life is a gift, and something we shouldn’t deprive?
Can we let each other live and not die
For just one day...
