One Day

"Sorry, I never told you all I wanted to say. Now it's too late to hold you, cause you've flown away, so far away. Never had I imagined living without your smile. Feeling and knowing your hear me, it keeps me alive. Alive. And I know you're shining down on me from heaven, like so many friends we've lost along the way. And I know eventually we'll be together, one sweet day"  But one day it too far away. One day is too long of a wait to again hold you in my arms and too long to wait to feel your hair tickle my nose. The promise of one day is not enough to satisfy this hold in my heart, the hold that aches for your love and friendship. One day is too long of a wait to say I'm sorry. One day is too long of a wait to be able to say that I love you and I miss you. I miss our late night converstations as we laid in our beds and gossiped as only young girls can and I miss your laugh as you told me about your day. I miss you, your positive attitude on life that made me change my own. While I saw only darkness you filled my life with some light, providing some happiness in my foreign world. One day is too late to apologize. I'm sory I wasn't there. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I'm sorry I couldn't hug you one last time before your life slipped away, leaving your frail body as the only reminder of your existence. And I'm sorry I couldn't say goodbye. One day...one day maybe it'll make sense. But for now, one day is still too far away.. ONe day is too long of a wait to again hold you
