One Day

"...one day..." He promised But that day has never come And while it hurts While it breaks my heart It frustrates and embitters me I realize it is out of my hands It is out of my control So I learn to let it go To let it roll off my back like water off a duck's back It won't be easy I know that But in the end it will be Better for my heart My soul And who knows? Perhaps one day He will come to his senses Perhaps "one day" Will come true
