One Hundred Percent

My spotless reputation,

My perfect grades,

My seemingly effortless success,

All of these are good. They've brought me this far.

But what have they left me with?

Pressure to be good,

Fear of failure,

Doubt in my own abilities,

Worry of what others think of me.

Somewhere along the way, my priorities changed.

Instead of learning, it became about impressing.

Instead of hard work, it became about appearances.

Suddenly, these straight-As don't seem so important.

The number one spot is no longer so appealing.

What's the point of success if all it brings is more fear?

Maybe I don't have to be perfect.

Maybe who I am is enough, after all.

It's time to let go.

It's time to be me.
