The One I Call Mother

One hit, two hit, three hit, four

How many hits before I am no more

You don't love me

You hate me

You probably wish I was never born

You throw balls of hate

Critics and insults

Hit after hit

You tear me down and watch with glee

Is it bad I want you to love me

To shower me with kindness

To tell me that I am not nothing as you always insist

But then I remember no one will ever love and care for me as the one who I thought might

So I Say

I am done

You have won

I have no more fight in me

I just wish you would be the mother I know you can be
