The One I Called a Friend

Friends.

There for the party, gone when the walls come  crashing.

I was looking for you, Buddy but you went mising in action.

I took every bullet, though WE started this war together.

And you left with all the weapons. Aren't you so clever.

So where were you when I went through the battel alone?

Thought you would stay with me because you were the one I could count on.

I guess you are a negative, more like a zero, since you were a no show.

While you were worried about saving your skin

I was fighting a army of our mistakes and our rivals.

And they ran over me and I struggled in OUR tidal....wave

Hoping my friend would appear and I would be saved.

But you didn't appear and I never saw you again.

Now I wonder about that missing person. The one I called Friend.

<p>I think we all have moments where we realize our "friends" aren't who they say they are. And in that moment you understand what your parents meant when they said "you can't call everyone your friend."</p>
