The One I Let Get Away
How could I have been so stupid, while I was soo young?
I cut you off and I feel like shit, and for a decision that was made at the mere age of 17, was it the right one?
Now and days seeing you on social media, I get envious of him, and I don’t even know him, wishing I could be him, but I’m not him when I could’ve stayed him but I left for self-happiness
I miss your good morning text, your rich dark skin, your weird snickering laugh, and your motivation to push, I… Miss… You
You liked me, no, loved me for me and I feel like I fucked up, because of a stupid argument I let you go, I let you get away
We weren’t perfect but we always bounced back, yet this time we didn’t
We even tried to make it work again but you friend zoned me when you found him and I deserved it, guilty and sick to my stomach
I hate that ill never get hold your hand again, play GTA with you again , play music with you again, dance to our song “Cant help but wait” again
Now, all I have is the memories, and where they stop short, no more new ones will be made
And it saddens me
For now, all I can do is watch you through the medium of technological devices with screens attached and reminisce about the one that got away because from the words of Katy Perry,In another life I would be your man
We'd keep all our promises Be us against the world
In another life I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
