To The One I Mistook For Sugar When You Were In Fact Salt

Dear Josh,

You were the reason I smiled my megawatt smile

You were the reason I hopped out of bed each morning

You were the reason I loved to laugh

You were the reason why my heart felt so full of love

But Now

You are the reason I lay awake at night asking myself “why wasn’t I good enough”

You are the reason I smile and laugh less

You are the reason why I cry myself to sleep

You are the reason why I feel so empty inside

You are the worst thing to happen to me.

Sincerely,

Lauryn
