One Job May Change My Life
Dream Job.
Surrounded by little children.
A few are crying,
One holding my hand.
Annoying to some.
Not to me.
Dream Job.
Watching small children.
Changing diapers.
Supper time.
Keep them occupied.
Some just cover the basics.
Not me.
Dream Job.
Interacting with small children.
Taking advantage of the teachable moment.
Nutritious meals, and plenty of exercise,
Focusing on secure attachment.
Some just follow the textbook.
Not me.
Dream Job.
Teaching small children.
Reading books.
Coloring.
Playing with goo or playdoh.
Pretending to be a dentist,
Or an explorer following a kangaroo,
Or a stomach, learning which foods are better.
Too simple for some.
Not for me.
Dream Job.
Where I can make a difference.
Teaching children
The foundation of their learning.
Instilling the truth in them.
Unimportant to some.
Not me.
Dream Job.
Learning through experiences.
I’m learning so much through experiences.

Some are oblivious.
Not me.
Dream Job.
I’m learning just as much as the kids.
How to love each child,
How to resolve problems with minimal conflict,
How to rejoice in the little things.
Some don’t notice.
Not me.
Dream Job.
Where what I learn at work overflows to the rest of my life.
How I think,
How I see,
How I learn,
How I plan,
How I listen,
How I speak,
How I act.
Some remain unchanged.
Not me.
This job could change my life.
