One Job May Change My Life
Everyday I hear the stories of the lost and the broken The precious daughter whose mother spent more time with her lips on a bottle than on her tender cheek
The mother who laughed along with the others about her appearance when in reality she feels as though she doesn’t fit into the mold of a woman
The young boy who is subject to pills that leave a sweet taste on his tongue that lasts just long enough to scream his name in a voice that is deceiving
The teenager that uses every blunt, bowl, and hit as an attempt to mask the dirt inside that will inevitably swarm his thoughts every moment of every day
The young lady that hides scars that are a result of moments where she believes that if she cuts deep enough she will find significance
The middle school girl with fingers stroking the back of her throat because she believes she is doing good by ridding her body of the evil that is food
The young man that tries as hard as he can to provide for his family resulting in anxiety, stress, and pain far worse than anybody else can see
The teenage boy that is too fearful to disappoint his parents by admitting failure and attempts to find his answers at the bottom of a bottle instead
The young girl that once had a young boy play her heart strings in such a beautiful melody, only to discover it was all just a game The man that screams at the top of his lungs and feels as though nobody can even hear him
Listening, diagnosing, helping, and assisting in self discovery and healing
THAT is a job that would change my life
