One Job May Change My Life: A Dr. Seuss Interpretation

Location

Oh no...

Today is my day

I'm off to new places

I'm off and away

My brains have been fried

My shoes are worn down

It seems the whole world

Wants me out of this town

I don't know what I know

And plently of people want to decide where I'll go

I'll look at the jobs, look them over with care

about some I will say, "Please God, not there!"

With my brains that are fried

and my shoes all worn down

I'll say to myself, "I miss my old town."

And I may find

A job that I hate

In that case, of course,

Please open the gates

At this job, things can happen

And they frequently do

To the people who work

As hard as I do

And when things start to happen

I won't worry

Nor will I stew

I'll go right along

I'll start happening too

I'll be on my way up!

I'll work with my might!

I'll join the high fliers

Who soar to high heights

I WON'T lag behind, because I'll  have the speed

I'll pass the whole gang, and I WILL take the lead

Whatever I do

I'll be the best of the best

Wherever I go

I will top all the rest

Oh, the places I'll go! There is work to be done!

There are scripts to be written, there are songs to be sung

On the set I will break through that fourth wall

And that will make me the best actress of all!

Fame! I'll be famous as famous can be,

With the whole wide world, watching me on TV

So...

Be it easy, or hard,

I'll be on my guard

I'm off to Great Places!

Today is my day!

My dream job is waiting

I'm off on my way!
