One Job, One Dream
One job, one dream.
That’s all that I need.
Because I can’t stand
The life you want me to lead.
I refuse to sit at a desk.
I can’t be “normal” like the rest.
I was meant for something different
Something unique and rare.
Something that will benefit me
And something that I can bare.
One job may change my life
And I know just what that job may be.
The perfect job for me I think,
Is a career in the music industry.
As I look around,
All I see are people that say they believe,
But don’t truly believe in me.
People don’t think I have a plan
Think my head is in the clouds.
But in all honesty,
I have the passion and the drive
To make my dream a reality.
I want to sing and dance on stage
I want to please the crowd.
I want to bring good music to the world
With a message to scream and shout!
I want the world to hear what I feel
And I want them to feel the same
I want the world to understand
Where I’m from and from where I came.
I want my name in shining lights
On top of the marquees
And if I can’t get these things,
I want to help someone else
Fulfill this dream.
I can see myself
Managing other acts.
Putting out music
That will make you dance.
Music that will make you feel
Any and every type of way
Music that will be there for you
When everyone else goes astray.
One job, one dream.
That’s all that I need.
To live the life
I want to lead.
I would love to be involved
In any way, shape, or form,
Of creating great music
That can sooth the soul.
Music.
My first and forever love.
I can only see myself
Doing what I love.
I want to wake up every day
Loving my career.
I want to enjoy the work, sweat, and tears
That I put into this fear.
The fear that I won’t be a “success”
That I won’t be financially stable.
The fear that I’ll be a disappointment
To those who told me I was able.
I want to move past these fears
And be my own version of success.
I want to live each and every day
As a person who is beyond content.
One job may change my life
And I know just what that job may be.
The perfect job for me I think,
Is a career in the music industry.
