One Job...May Change My Life

I remember the day

When I knew what I wanted to be

I was so little

people were always saying

"you'll change your mind"

I was 4 and now I'm 17

and nothing has changed

i still have the same dream at night

Standing in that office

animals in front of me

and me saving their life

people have asked me

"how could you deal with putting an animal down"

my response always the same

"I know that I had done everything I could do to save them"

I've dreamt about the day

with the first animal in front of me

doing the things I have spent in college

learning to do

I wanna be the voice for an animal

They don't have many

and even saving one

would be my dream
