The One That Keeps Getting Away

Sometimes I look to the future

and I see the me I hope to be.

Lately as I peek I see you

because I want you to be so much,

and I know you will be.

Not for me,

or for the next girl,

not for a friend,

not even for your family-

but solely for you.

I hope I always know you

I hope I always love you.
