One Leaf

My heart

Tender

Like fallen golden leaves

So beautiful, so breathtaking,

So everyone tells me.

I feel alive

Wanted

Cherished by you

Only to be pushed aside

To wait for winter to come through

Cold. Yet soft.

It's not the first I've felt this.

But it's okay!

I'm fine

But that's what I always say.

I'll die away with the snow

And soon, new grass shall grow

Spring will awaken the trees

And so brings on new leaves.

You will love those leaves

But are those leaves me?

How are you to know?

To you

I'm just one out of many.
