one mic

inspired by: nas

all i need is one mic

one chance

one stage

one person to put me on so i move the crowd

all i ever need is one opportunity

one girl

one god to guide me in the right direction

so my self-respect is not tormented like a slavemaster beating his slave with no remorse

my righteousness of being a good man needs to be endorse

seeds i plant need to grow and not die before their time

people killing their own kind is a hideous crime

i'm not an mc kicking verses and rhyme

i'm speaking the truth

this is my hood recite to the deaf of it

so everyone come on

young people is grown stand up and be warriors

fight back to stand up for a cause

efforts of not backing down deserves nothing but round of applause

if you ready to bring it

this is what mvp is all about

all i need is one mic

all i need is one bible

one page

one brain

one prayer

i ask you lord to forgive me for one sin

matter of fact

more than one sin

look back for all the hatred against me

screw all of them

it's easy to pick up one gun

fire off one round hits someone square in the face

one time

my heart would be racing

but i don't stoop low to that level

and end up in a setting where hell have no place

and answer to the devil who have no jurisdiction other than death

in which all it takes is one time

i'm better than that

i'm more stronger now

and more so i gain strength

all i need is one mic

all i need is one life

one try

one breath

of one man

what i stand for speak for itself

people don't comprehend in wanting to see me on top

too manically jealous

wearing a mask in which the truth unveils and shows your true colors

wish you knew if i had any secrets concealed

assuming that i have weaknesses which i have none

you getting to know me now is too late

your presence is horrendous like a girl having a bad date

people are always going to try and throw dirt in my name

my life shines like no other that will lead me into the hall of fame

my existence is more sensible than some broke ass selling pipe dreams about making money in which that is a got damn shame

i don't make the same mistake

i'm on a different page people will still try to slither and strike like snakes

this is crazy i'm on the right track i'm finally found you need some soul searching my time is now all i need is one mic

nas wrote the original version-the idea itself caught my attention

i recreated my own version using similar concept

before you make any attempt to attack any poet whether it's myself or any poet, read thoroughly and efficiently

powerpoetry is certainly not the place to criticize or chastize anybody

with that being said, be mindfully conscious on comments you leave

thank you

poetry doesn't necessarily need grammar thats the beauty of poetry-its a creative form of art if it was an essay-then all the punctuation and capitalization is needed never judge poetry by its grammar, learn poetry by its meaning and usage

Forgive me for the harsh rating. I enjoyed the poem; however, all poetic grammar was ignored in this poem. No capital were used at the start of each line and no punctuation (the only indicator of pause in poetry). With that said, I loved the message of the poem.
