One More

There aren't many

Things in this world

That people would really change.

Maybe someone would wish for

World peace, or

The end of world hunger, or

Even a billion dollars.

But I would change

The level of

Kindness

I've seen.

There are so many silhouettes

Of broken children,

Hiding behind lies

and cowering under others.

And towering adults,

Too high up

To see the problems

Beneath them.

They shade my life

As I slowly become one.

Just a shadow.

Almost gone.

Dark and invisible.

If there was only one more,

One more helping hand,

Outstretched from the land above-

The one with sweet laughter

And smiling faces-

I'm sure I would've been

Fine.

We all would have been fine.

If I could change the world,

I'd wish for just one

Act of kindness

To everyone on this

Planet.

One more

Would change

Everything.
