One More

"I want to touch you because I love you," he says
And you believe him.
One more kiss and he'll stay forever
One more time and he'll never leave
"It'll get better when we're older,"
A lie you chose to believe
For one more day
And one more night.
But the morning came and you decided
One too many tears
And one too many lies
Was just too much for "because I love you"
To comfort in your mind.
One day soon you'll learn those words
Can mean support and trust
While all the toxic memories
Over time, gather dust.
