One More Day
One more day to cherish
Another day to lie in the sun and bask
Another day is my only wish
A day of family, joy, and love is all I ask
As the sun rises, I open my eyes extremely wide
There I see all those who raised me
Mom, dad, grandparents, those who have always been at my side
Without all of them, who knows who I’d be
I’d take my mom anywhere I can
After all, she did work so hard in raising me
A football game for my dad, who taught me how to be a man
They’re the greatest parents in the world, and I wouldn’t trade them for any amount of money
When the sun reaches its peak
I’ll be on a plane that takes me anywhere I say
It’s too bad I don’t have one more week
But I am still very grateful to have just one more day
First to the rainforest to zip line in the canopy
Tropical birds all floating above the colorful ground beneath me
Then it’s off to the beautiful shores of Italy
Next Paris, Australia, and the Caribbean, every place I’ve wanted to be
Now the day comes to a close, as I lay in the sand
I plan to spend the night with the girl I love
A night of romance, her and I, hand in hand
We will always be together, down here on earth and up above
Water slowing soaking my feet
I look over at her, seeing those gorgeous, brown eyes sparkle in the moonlight
A soft kiss makes my heart skip a beat
Just being with her makes my night
And as I close my eyes, I know this is it, but I have no fear
The last second of the clock has gone away
I see all those who I care about wave and shed a tear
Only now seeing how lucky I was to have one more day
