One More Thought About Myself

One More Thought About Myself

At times I pass by the mirror and stare.

Gaze into my reflection,

Into the eyes of a young woman I sometimes barely recognize.

Looking back in the mirror is usually a flashy smile.

The pearly whites can be misleading though,

The glossy ice blue eyes tell the entire story.

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul.

Looking into my own eyes I see the pain and hurt,

That my heart has felt time and time again.

The journey thus far hasn't been easy.

Life is about learning.

As I am still gazing at my reflected self I realize,

Many faults have been made by me.

For the future I hope to not disappoint people with foolish actions,

And show immense love for all.

Where love is given there is room for love to be returned.

So I will go on living life, taking risks and hoping not to get burned.
