That One Person

There is always that one person who

makes you drown in your own conscience.

The image of just being with them fills

your soul with butterflies mixed with shards of glass.

He is the ancient glue that holds my elementary school projects together.

Yellow and crusty but still does the job.

Holding on to me. Tight.

But not tight enough.

Why do I still stay?

Because I love him.
