One random act

One old man,

sitting alone at a table for two

in the dimly lit restaraunt.

the waiter, unaware of the man's story asks

"what's the special occasion?'

the man looks up

and takes a deep breathe.

As his eyes slowly fill with tears of millions of memories,

he says "It would be my fifty-fourth wedding anniversary

if my wife was still alive"

the tears threaten to fall, but the man shoves them away.

He orders and waits.

sitting alone at a table for two.

then the bill comes and the waiter smiles

the couple that was sitting near the man

had heard his story

and decided to give him a gift.

they paid for his dinner before they left

the man sits shocked

unable to get the words out, he looks around for the couple

but they are already gone.

As the old man exits the restaraunt,

he smiles at the sky and nows

his wife is still looking out for

him.
