A One Side Story

If I say what was true,

then this would all be through.

Over and over again I think.

I tell more lies to myself than an eye blinks

but, who am I to say that it would be over.

Only if I had kept you as a secret lover

rather than opening the seal

now I have to pay the high price on that one bill

‘cause I broke the very thing that kept you hidden in the abyss of my heart,

Now with every word that I hear comes a shooting dart

aimed just for me

Why won’t they just let me be?

But, none of them hear my plea

It’s like they sent out a decree

Only if I had kept you in the abyss of my heart.

Then I wouldn’t feel so torn apart
