one spring afternoon

A little girl sits on a court

tennis racket in hand

crying.

her coach has just told her-

she was nothing special.

Stop trying.

But

she knew if she wanted to reach her goal

that little girl would have to stand

tall

she worked

and worked

and worked

she was knocked

more times than she could count,

until one average spring day

someone shone some light on this little girl,

sprinkled on some kindness

and she

blossomed
