The One that Stayed

I felt you

and it scared me how much you could see

you were the first person to know what I'd been through

and you still wanted me?

I wasn't sure how to feel

no one wanted to stay after what you'd seen

everyone else ran

I scared them off with the truth

but you told me that wasn't who I am

the truth isn't pretty

but you told me I was

because you saw the strength in me

you wanted the real me

and I showed you just how broken

a girl could really be

but why did you stay?

I can't give you anything

but that's what love is, or so they say
