One Step Ahead

Standing on the edge,

Stage is black.

With one step ahead,

No turning back.

Voices wait to trap,

Murder too

With one step ahead,

You'll be through.

Heart is beating,

Oh so fierce.

Breath is catching,

All eyes pierce.

Standing on the edge,

Stage grows bright.

Voices all hush,

Watching the light.

All is forzen,

Waiting on you.

Judgment in ambush.

Oh, what to do!

Loving voice whispers,

Press on.

Then all else fades,

Voice goes on.

Heart still pounding,

But not so fierce.

Breath now steady,

No eyes can pierce.

Take one step ahead,

Stage all light.

Loving voice whispers,

It's all right.
