One Step into the Woods

One step into the woods is all it takes

for me to feel like I have escaped.

The sun peeking through the trees

makes me feel like nobody can get to me.

As I walk on the trail and begin the climb

I feel a rush in my soul with the elevation rise.

When I get to the top and see the mountain peaks

it reminds me just how small everything else seems.
