One Thing

I told him one thing

That's all

"Help me believe in something

I wanna believe in you"

We were one

I suppose

We were a pair of broken wings

When I went one way

He fell down dead

I saw him there

No mind, no soul

Just a pair of eyes

Seeking out that long-gone sun

And I waited

I watched

He'd told me

"Sure, miss"

And I said

"Fine"
