The One Thing
A toxic remedy
A sick game of love and power
Control and want
If I could be rid of you
Go back
To the days
When I didn't need you so damn much
Maybe then
I could sleep through the night
I could rest this wary head
Maybe then
It wouldn't hurt so much
Call me whatever you have to
To numb the pain
Drink me away
I never wanted this for you
For us
All I ever wanted
Was my childish fears to disapear
I never wanted
To hurt you
I never wanted
To bring you down
I never wanted anything
From you
But just a touch
A kiss
I never expected
To get addicted
Do whatever you have to
Call me the lowest name
You can think of
Hate me forever
To the very core of my being
Whatever makes you feel better
About me
Taking away the forever
I promised to you
Whatever numbs this burn
Whatever curbs the need
I'll take the heat
I'll bleed
So you don't have to
Because the one thing I didn't mean to do
Was fall in love with you
