The One Thing

Stranded, alone, and searching for more,

I desperately reach for a thing

To fill the hole and play the role

Of another human being.

I long for stories, I long for art

I wish I had a way

To seek and find what I left behind

That magical, musical day.

For if I had that music now,

My days would cease to be sad.

I could sing and dance to its mystical chants,

Gain a piece of the life I once had.

The teller of stories and holder of souls

Connects the world around.

It fills our hearts and then it starts

To amaze, inspire, astound.
