The One Thing

Every Disney Princess

Has an "I want" song

I want legs

Books

Freedom

Everyone recieves

But me

For the thing I want

No longer exists

An island where sea levels stay level

Not inclined to consume

In a matter of time

Where animals don't swelter in the heat

Radiating from a thousand miles away

Don't scrounge for shelter

That disappears

Day after day

Because other animals cut it down

To fill their own need

Better said, greed

Those animals are us

It is my car

That boils their world

My neighbor's wood table

That cut down another's home

My grocer's pesticides

That turned water to acid

My love

That will help

That can save

That will save

For we all have a dream

And if one can't support their dreams

Then why bother sleeping?

It is my choice

To rescue my wish

Because in the end

It will be what keeps me alive
